My motto is “Music Fuels the Soul”.
Spirit and Music have always been at the top of the list of importance in my life and now I’m so thrilled to share that love with the people of this Center, as well as have the opportunity to express it with my personal music tastes and by bringing in special music guest artists that will enhance spiritual nurturing.
My Musical Background:
I started playing keys at 7 years old, but didn’t take lessons until I was 14. I took organ lessons for 5 years. I didn’t take piano lessons until I was 30, but have always had an acoustic piano or electric piano in my home as I find it very relaxing just to play, even if there is no upcoming performance involved.
In 1992 & 1993 out of nowhere I composed and recorded my first 2 original new age piano CD’s. ‘Shades of Brown’ and ‘Mystery Moon’. I started playing in coffee shops in Tucson as well as Minneapolis where I also played a number of malls. I also played a few art openings and gatherings that were very enjoyable.
In 1997, I substituted for the music director at Unity of Tucson where I had my first taste of being a music director.
I’ve also been singing since I was 10 and have been a singing member of Reveille Men’s Chorus in Tucson, and Orlando Gay Chorus. Both were wonderful experiences.
Recently, I put together my first self-released Vocal CD of 8 songs. Some songs are spiritual in nature and some are pop. It was a 9-month project that was incredibly exciting to accomplish.
Becoming Music Director at the Greater Orlando Center for Spiritual Living has already proven to be very exciting for me, and I’m excited to build the music team. I hope you’ll join me in the celebration of Spirit and Music.
